Highlawn Baptist Church’s Annual Picnic is Saturday, July 19 at Shelter #4 at Shawnee Park
in Dunbar from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Please bring a covered dish, a lawn chair and enjoy good food, games, and fellowship.
We will celebrate the 60th anniversary of
Highlawn Baptist Church on September 20 and 21, 2008. Invitations for the Celebration are on the table
in the foyer. Please send them to family and friends you think would be interested in attending.
It’s almost time for Vacation Bible School.
This year it will be July 28th through August 1st. The party and program will be Saturday, August 2nd
at 12:00pm until 3:00pm. We need lots of workers to make this a big success. We hope you will volunteer so we can encourage
and show God’s love to these young ones. Please call the church office at 727-7802 if you are able to help.

This is a short 7-lesson study on Galatians and Ephesians entitled ‘Free from Bondage God’s Way”
which we will be doing in 3 weeks and doubling up on the classes. This discussion course will help set you free from such
things as legalism and the bondage to ‘do this’ ‘don’t do this’ and other kinds of slavery set
upon you by man. The Word of God says ‘Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom!’
But does this give us freedom to live any way we choose?
Everyone is welcome to come join us for this small, but informative study on Galatians.
Also Ephesians is included in the book as a study for those who wish to study it at home or a prelude to the Precept
upon Precept (PUP) class on Ephesians in the fall-the Rolls Royce of Precept Study.
